Clean My Inbox is a free Gmail add-on that shows you who's filling up your inbox — your top senders ranked by email volume. You can then archive all emails from any sender in one click, keeping your inbox clean without losing anything.
Yes. Clean My Inbox is completely free to use. There are no premium tiers, no trial periods, and no hidden fees.
The add-on runs entirely within Google's infrastructure using Apps Script. It requests permissions to read your inbox (for sender analysis), modify emails (for archiving and labeling), and manage basic settings (for creating filters). It never reads the body of your emails and never sends your data to external servers. All cached data stays in your own Google account.
No. Clean My Inbox never deletes anything. It only archives emails, which moves them out of your inbox but keeps them fully searchable and accessible in Gmail. Archived emails also get a "Cleaned" label so you can find them easily.
Yes. All archived emails receive a "Cleaned" label. You can search for label:Cleaned in Gmail to find everything that was archived, and move any emails back to your inbox at any time.
Clean My Inbox automatically protects important emails from being archived. This includes receipts, shipping confirmations, order updates, and support threads. These emails are detected by their content patterns and skipped during bulk archiving, so you never lose anything critical.
Instead of showing noreply@amazon.com, shipment@amazon.com, and deals@amazon.com as separate senders, Clean My Inbox groups them all under amazon.com. This gives you a true picture of how many emails a company is sending you, and lets you archive them all at once.
Yes. Clean My Inbox works with both personal Gmail accounts (@gmail.com) and Google Workspace accounts (custom domains). Your Workspace administrator may need to approve the add-on depending on your organization's policies.
Sender analysis data is cached temporarily in your own Google account using Google's CacheService, with a 6-hour expiration. No email data is ever sent to or stored on external servers. The only data we store externally is your email address if you join the waitlist.
Open Gmail on desktop, click the add-ons panel on the right side, find Clean My Inbox, click the three-dot menu, and select "Manage add-on." From there you can uninstall it. This immediately revokes all permissions and cached data is automatically cleared by Google.
